It’s what we’ve been waiting for – fantastic spring fishing. Our flats trips have been crazy good, with snook and redfish the main targets. The fish have come out of the backcountry and they are hungry. We did a trip to Homosassa and using live sardines slammed the snook, boating and releasing some 40 fish in just four hours of fishing. At times, we had triple hookups. The best part only 4 or 5 of the fish were undersized. We took some big reds while we were at it, and a few of those were jumbos. Generally speaking, now is the time for flats fishing, as the transition to active, feeding fish is upon us.
